The Gananoque Arts Network has received funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Community-Based Projects Program.
The objectives of this federal program include promoting volunteerism, engaging seniors in mentoring, expanding awareness of elder abuse, supporting social participation and inclusion, and providing capital assistance for new or existing
community projects/programs.
The Gananoque Arts Network (GAN) will use the approximately $20,000 received to run a series of creative arts programs for seniors across the community. This programming will include a broad range of creative opportunities
will include a broad range of creative opportunities including drawing, wood burning, photography, pottery, and painting. Engagement opportunities with seniors and thosewho support seniors will allow GAN to create programming that meets local needs and interests and optimizes the level of engagement. The program will run from August through the end of March 2026. GAN is a community-based, not for profit volunteer organization with a mission of “Focusing on transforming our community and lives through the power of creativeexpression”. • Film Description:
During the 1976 coup in Argentina, an English teacher rescues a penguin and brings it to his school. His Life begins to change when the bird's presence starts to have a positive effect on the school.

Pyrography Workshop

This pyrography (wood burning)class will teach some basic techniques like shading and how to work with different woods. There will be some stencils and other things to help you create a design with ease. Wood cookies will be provided for burning. Create something fun or something you can give as gift.

Get involved in the Gan Arts Fest Fish Tales event! Bring your grandchildren and help create funky fabric fish for our big event on September 21st (see our event page).
We will be creating fabric fish that can be carried at our fabulous parade.
