Call for Entries: Let There Be Light

Light illuminates and reveals. Shadows soften and conceal. Subtle highlights emerge from darkness, shifting colour temperature and mood. Reflected light illuminates hidden hues while signalling presences beyond our direct gaze. This interplay of illumination and obscurity shapes not only what we perceive, but how we feel. The language of light, in all its nuance and mystery, mirrors life itself.

The “fine print"

Only work of GAN Subscribers ($25 annually at ganarts.ca/plans-pricing) will be shown.

The artist will allow their work to be curated and shown with that of other GAN artists in a display designed by the GAN Exhibition Committee. This will be based on what the committee believes will make a thematic statement and/or an aesthetically pleasing presentation in the space available.

A $20 hanging fee per work is requested.

The artist is asked to provide an 8.5 x 11” page giving your name; the work’s title and medium; an artist’s statement about the work; and price and contact information if you wish to provide it. This information will be displayed in a binder accompanying the exhibition.

The provision of the artist’s contact information may lead to sales. If a sale is made through exposure in the show, it is customary that a 20% (or more) donation be made to the GAN.

While efforts will be made to keep the work safe, the artist should know that the work will be displayed in a space that may occasionally be unsupervised. The GAN is hereby released from liability for damage or loss of the work displayed including digital theft.

The artist agrees to keep their work in the show for its duration (estimated: mid-September, 2025) and allows images of their work to be included in GAN promotional materials, social media, and/or website unless otherwise stated.
