Pottery Classes & Workshops

GAN is pleased to offer a variety of pottery classes, workshops and private classes, led by experienced instructors

Ready to get into the pottery studio?  Gananoque Arts Network are offering a new series of pottery classes.

 

Students can sign up for beginner or intermediate wheel courses or hand building instruction. 

Beginner/Intermediate Pottery Wheel - 6 week program

Thursday September 18 to Thursday October 23, : 6:30 to 9:30 pm

$300

A six-week course for beginners and experienced potters alike. Students will spend 3 hours per week in the pottery studio developing pottery wheel skills in centering clay, shaping simple forms, and creating their first pottery piece. No experience necessary, however students with prior experience will also be supported in further developing their skills and learning about pottery wheel work.

Participants will be provided all materials. Maximum number of participants - 6.​

Sculpted Relief Clay Workshop (2 days)

Saturday October 25 and Sunday October 26, 9:00 am to 4 pm each day

$275

​​​​The pottery studio at the Gananoque Arts Network is thrilled to be hosting a two-day sculpted clay relief workshop by renowned sculptor, Richard Gill.

​

Richard has a Bachelor of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University and a diploma of Applied Arts in Ceramics from Sheridan College. He has been sculpting full time since 1970.  His studio, Fog Run Studio, in one hour's drive from Ottawa in the village of Burnstown.
 
Richard's plaques and murals have received numerous awards and hang in many private and public collections across Canada and abroad.  His commissioned murals hang in Kingston General Hospital, Stoney Creek City Hall, Amoco Oil (Calgary), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Canadian Museum of Civilization, Queen's University and various restaurants, churches and community centres.

​

The 2 day workshop will be held on October 25 & 26 from 9 am to 4 pm in the pottery studio at the Gan Arts Network.  Participants will make 2 wall plaques.  All materials will be provided and pieces will be bisque fired ready to be coloured or glazed.

​

Space is limited to 8 students – register today so as not to miss out.

Cancellation policy

Refunds will be issued for student withdrawal up to two weeks before the class starts. After this period we will provide a credit towards a future class(es).

 

Classes are subject to cancellation or rescheduling by GAN if the minimum number of students is not met. Refunds or course credits will be provided at the students choice in this case.
