Journeys and Destinations

 

​This Open Entry (unjuried) Community Exhibition invites creators working in any medium to explore journeys both outward and inward. We welcome work that reflects physical travel, personal transformation, and the destinations – realized or unfulfilled – that shape our paths.

 

Submission guidelines

  • No need to submit images of proposed entries in advance, all works meeting the following submission guidelines will be accepted, with some rare exceptions. 

  • All artwork must be original: painting, drawing, handmade prints (e.g. etching, screenprint) collage, clay, mixed media, photography, or small sculpture and suitable for display in a community gallery.      

  • two pieces maximum to have been made in the last ten years by the person entering  

  • sizes from miniature to approx. 24 x 36 in. 

  • $15 per piece donation requested as an entry fee   

  • You are a GAN Subscriber, having registered on the ganarts.ca website.  

  • All entries meeting these guidelines will be accepted (some exceptions may apply).

 

When you drop off your work(s) you’ll be asked to fill in an entry form with the work’s title and size, and your agreement with the following: 

  • The artist agrees that their name, the title(s) of the work(s) and media will be made available on a guide sheet.

  • This is not a sales event; no prices will be posted.

  • While efforts will be made to keep the work safe, the work will be displayed in a space that at times will be unsupervised.  The GAN is hereby released from liability for damage or loss of the work displayed including digital theft.

  • Images of your work may be included in GAN promotional materials, social media, and/or website, unless otherwise stated.​

  • The artist agrees to keep their work in the show for its duration (estimated: mid-July 2026)

Thursday, May 7, 5:30–7:00

Friday, May 8, 10:30–12:00

Sunday, May 10, 2–4pm

​ON VIEW: Tuesday, May 12 to mid-July 

OPENING: Saturday, May 16, 2–4pm, with comments at 2:30
